Originally from Boise, Idaho, Jeremy came to Georgia to take a part time youth pastor position in another church during the summer of 2002. Little did he realize that it was all part of a much bigger plan. Jeremy joined the staff here at the Marietta Vineyard in January of 2004 as the assistant pastor under our founding pastor, Rick Coffin. However, later that year, God called Rick and his wife, Ellen, to be church planters in India. After much prayer and consideration, it became evident that God had brought Jeremy and his family here to lead this church. Jeremy was ordained as Senior Pastor of the Marietta Vineyard in April 2005.
Jeremy attended Calvary Chapel Bible College in Boise, Idaho from 1997-1999, where he was ordained in August of 1999. Jeremy also got his start in Youth Ministry while at Calvary Chapel Treasure Valley back in 1997 and has been actively involved with youth ministry since. He was involved with Radical Action Disciples, Training and teaching one-on-one discipleship with young people ages 18-24, and had the privilege of being one of the main speakers on the Extreme Tour in 2003. The Extreme Tour is a multi-city tour sponsored by Extreme Youth Ministries, a non-profit organization, which endeavors to use any means, or method that does not compromise scriptural standards, to reach "at risk" and unchurched youth with the gospel. Jeremy graduated in 2005 from the Vineyard Leadership Institute having completed a 2-year intensive program in biblical and pastoral studies. Jeremy will finish his Master's in Theological Studies at Bakke Graduate University in June 2009.
Jeremy is also a singer/songwriter musician who plays drums guitar and bass guitar. He spent some time recording and touring with a Christian punk band called “Looking Jonny?” He also loves to use music as a vehicle to reach young people for Christ, which is the basis for the youth concert series held regularly at the church.
Jeremy and his wife, Stephanie, have two young sons, Jordan and Taylor.
A few of Jeremy’s favorite things: “I love to hang out with my boys and spend time with my wife. I love to make music and be creative, but I’m not sure why, and I love to work out. For some reason this year became the year of working out because it is a great stress reliever for me and it keeps me in shape.”
Hobbies: "I am really getting into making my yard look nice. Wow! That makes me sound old, huh!"
Favorite flavor of ice cream: Good old fashioned Vanilla.
